This simple and quick Italian sauce is prepared from fresh tomatoes and herbs in just ten minutes and goes well with many dishes. Chopped tomatoes are stewed with garlic, onions and fresh herbs until the sauce is filled with aromas of Mediterranean spices. For best results, use several types of herbs, such as a mixture of parsley, basil and oregano. To balance the acidity of the tomatoes, add a pinch of sugar at the very end. The sauce goes well with ravioli with cheese, pasta or gnocchi.

Recipes use volumetric containers with the volume:
1 cup (st.) – 240 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) – 180 ml.
1/2 cup (tbsp.) – 120 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) – 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) – 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp.) – 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) – 5 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 2 cloves, minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp. l diced onion
  • 2 tbsp. l olive oil
  • 2 tomatoes chopped
  • 3 tbsp. l fresh herbs (oregano, basil, parsley), chopped
  • Pinch of sugar
  • Ravioli with cheese and herbs, ready to serve.



Recipe preparation:

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, fry the garlic and onions in olive oil for 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes and herbs, continue cooking for 5 minutes, until the tomatoes are soft. Salt, pepper and add sugar. Serve with ravioli.
