New Year's chocolate-orange cake

If you want to raise

Orange with its orange sour sweetness warms in the winter cold.

  • For shortcakes:
  • Granulated sugar 110 g
  • Wheat flour 120 g
  • Cocoa powder 3 tbsp
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Powdered sugar 80 g
  • Butter 110 g
  • Black chocolate 100 g
  • Chicken egg 5 PC.
  • Salt 1/3 tsp
  • For impregnation of cakes:
  • Orange liquor 3 tbsp
  • Granulated sugar 120 g
  • Orange 2 PC. big (juice)
  • For cream:
  • Cottage cheese 5% 150 g
  • Powdered sugar 150 g
  • Orange 1 PC. large (zest)
  • Cream 35% 300 ml
  • For glaze:
  • Granulated sugar 4 tbsp
  • Cocoa powder 3 tsp
  • Sour cream 30% 3 tbsp
  • Butter 1 tbsp
  • To decorate:
  • Mix of nuts 2 cups
  • Black chocolate fifty g

  • How do we make New Year’s chocolate-orange cake? Let’s start with the cake. In one dish, mix wheat flour with cocoa powder and baking powder. In the other, we ground the icing sugar with butter.
  • In a third bowl, grind the yolks of chicken eggs with half measured sugar and salt. Melt the chocolate in a water bath. First, pour melted chocolate into the dishes with powder and butter, and then – yolks with sugar and salt. We grind everything well.
  • In this last liquid mixture, gradually add the dry mixture from the first dish (flour, cocoa and baking powder). Mix everything thoroughly.
  • Beat the eggs from the eggs with a mixer with the second half of sugar to a stable foam. In parts, add to the dough and gently mix this whole already airy mass.
  • We grease a demountable baking dish with butter and fill it with dough. By this time, preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Bake the cake for 40 minutes. We check readiness with a wooden skewer.
  • While the cake is baked in the oven, prepare the cream. Beat with icing sugar, cottage cheese and zest of one large orange in one bowl. In another container with a mixer, whip the cream on its own. Then we mix these two masses in one bowl with a spoon. The result was an amazingly gentle cream.
  • We take out the form with the baked cake from the oven, allow to cool and cut horizontally with a long knife into three equal parts.
  • So that the cakes are tender, we prepare the impregnation. Squeeze juice from oranges, mix with sugar and bring to a boil. We cook for one minute, cool and add liquor, with which we saturate all three cakes.
  • We begin the assembly of the cake. Cream visually divide into 3 parts. Smear the first cake. We lay the second on it. We grease the second, put the third on it. We coat the third with a very thin layer of cream, into which we pour a mixture of your favorite nuts. Coat the sides of the cake with the remaining cream.
  • Cooking the icing. Heat the mixture of sugar, cocoa powder, sour cream and butter, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes homogeneous. After boiling, keep on fire for half a minute and remove from heat.
  • We pour icing on the nuts, starting from the center of the cake to the sides. Let it flow evenly or help it to drain as we like. While it has not yet frozen, scatter on top pieces of crushed chocolate.
  • We place the cake in the refrigerator for an hour or two. Or better all night. And then we cut into portions and get a delightful pleasure! Good mood and bon appetit for all holidays!
