This unusual Asian-style dessert will appeal to everyone. The crispy golden shells of the wontons are filled with delicate cream cheese cream filling with orange confiture, ginger and wonderful notes of cinnamon. The combination of ginger and orange is a real highlight of this dessert. The filling is laid out on pieces of dough for wontons, then they are sealed and fried in oil until they become crispy. Serve by cooling slightly and sprinkling with powdered sugar. You can eat just like that, with tea or at the end of dinner, decorating with a ball of vanilla ice cream.

Recipes use volumetric containers with a volume of:
1 cup (st.) – 240 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) – 180 ml.
1/2 cup (tbsp.) – 120 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) – 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) – 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp.) – 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) – 5 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 12 pieces of dough for wontons
  • 1 tsp orange confiture
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 55 gr. softened cream cheese
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • Vegetable oil, for deep fat
  • Icing sugar to sprinkle

Recipe preparation:

  1. In a medium-sized pan with a thick bottom and straight walls, add enough oil so that it reaches at least 2.5 cm across the wall. Heat over moderate heat.
  2. In a small bowl, combine orange marmalade, ginger, cream cheese, cinnamon and salt. Put 1 tsp on each wonton. with a slide of filling and brush the edges of the dough with a little water. Fold in half diagonally and clamp the edges of the dough to make triangles. Collect all the wontons before frying.
  3. Working in several portions, fry the wontons, 3 to 4 pieces at a time, until golden brown, 3-4 minutes, turning over once. Put the wontons on paper towels to drain excess fat. Let cool for a few minutes, as the filling will be very hot. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
